We stand behind our firearms 100% and strive to offer excellent customer service. However, as the owner of this firearm, it is your responsibility to do your due diligence in caring for and maintaining your firearm. This document will help to outline the Terms and Conditions, Warranty, Maintenance, and Frequently Asked Questions about your purchase. Neglecting to properly care for your firearm could result in damage to the firearm, person and/or property, and void the warranty on this firearm.
As a gun owner, it is your responsibility to seek out proper instruction on how to properly maintain, carry, and use your firearm. Instruction can be found many places, however 6:17 Tactical recommends that you seek professional instruction through a legitimate business. Information on qualified instructors in your area can be obtained through your local law enforcement, firearms retailers, or local gun clubs. 6:17 Tactical offers reduced rates on instruction for sixty (60) days after purchase of a firearm.

Minors and adolescents SHOULD NOT HAVE access to firearms without proper adult supervision. Keep firearms and ammunition locked away in a safe place, inaccessible to any minor or adolescent. The parent, guardian, or legal adult supervisor should be aware of the laws and restrictions regarding the use of a handgun or rifle by a minor or adolescent, and should use proper judgement regarding such use. The legal adult supervisor should realize the additional responsibility of a minor with a firearm and be certain to provide close, competent instruction prior to using this or any firearm. All 6:17 Tactical firearms are built with weight savings and precision in mind. This means that there will be some noticeable differences between your 6:17 Tactical firearm and other firearms. This firearm will be significantly lighter than average, with receivers and handguards made from billet aluminum. Additionally, every 6:17 Tactical firearm undergoes an accurizing process that removes flex and play between the individual parts of the firearm. The most noticeable of these places is between the upper and lower receiver, which are bedded for a tight fit. When disassembling your 6:17 Tactical firearm, you may need to use a hammer and punch to knock out the rear takedown pin as a result of this bedding process. This is normal and should become easier over time as the two surfaces wear into each other.
6:17 Tactical firearms (with some exceptions) use Cryptic Coatings Mystic Bronze, Mystic Midnight, Mystic Black, or Nickel Boron coated bolt carrier groups. These bolt carrier groups are coated with the “slickest” coatings (coatings with a low coefficient of friction) available on the market, and as such are designed to run well with less oil. For more information about Cryptic Coatings bolt carrier groups, visit https://www.crypticcoatings.com
If you encounter a malfunction with your firearm, bring it to 6:17 Tactical for an assessment under warranty. We will also accept an assessment from a professional gunsmith, however unless prior approval is given we will not cover the cost of the assessment or any repairs made. 6:17 Tactical offers a limited lifetime transferrable Labor Warranty on defects in assembly and malfunctions, and discounted rates on firearms purchased from us outside of the warranty. Parts not made by 6:17 Tactical are covered by their respective manufacturer’s warranty, and while 6:17 Tactical will happily troubleshoot malfunctions and initiate manufacturer’s warranty claims on your behalf, we are not responsible for denied warranty claims by other manufacturers. Should the source of a malfunction be discovered to be due to negligence on behalf of the owner, 6:17 Tactical reserves the right to void the warranty on the firearm and cease work on the firearm until the owner approves diagnostic/repair fees.
